An Evening With Queens

This is my third year participating in my friend's women empowerment gathering. She's formed a community organization called Zauditu with 4 other bad ass women from Brooklyn. Zauditu's mission is to promote and empower women entrepreneurs in the community.  An Evening With Queens was hosted by  Zauditu at Eleven Sixty Six in Brooklyn. This night was all about uplifting female entrepreneurs, from the vendors, to guest speakers, the caterer, event coordinator, DJ, and photographer were all female entrepreneurs.

This year I was honored to be a guest speaker and facilitate an exercise called "Between Now and Later" , see my facilitator brochure below.

I always wanted to teach, but as a student, I quickly learned I didn't want to teach in the educational system. I moved away from traditional teaching environments like the classroom. I saw them as limiting interaction, learning styles, and an inorganic way to exchange information. Because of these reasons I rarely declare my career aspirations as a teacher. However, most of my friends are not surprised to see me facilitating workshops.

Although this is not the first workshop I've facilitated, I feel initiated into this world. In August 2016, I co-faciliated a medtitation exercise called, "Preserving your Light", I host women empowerment events for my friends in my home in June 2016 and September 2016.  I find joy in planting positive seeds this way.

I can feel myself stepping more into my purpose and doing the things that matter to me. There is so much more to come.
